Vaultly
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026
Vaultly is designed as a private home asset vault. Your inventory, photos, and proof documents are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud Sync, your data may sync through your personal iCloud account. Vaultly does not operate a server for storing your home asset data.
1. Information You Add to Vaultly
Vaultly lets you create records for personal assets and related proof documents. Depending on what you choose to enter, this information may include:
- Asset names, brands, models, categories, serial numbers, locations, purchase dates, purchase prices, current values, warranty details, and notes.
- Photos of assets, receipts, invoices, warranty cards, appraisals, ownership documents, labels, and other proof images.
- Report details you create, such as insurance inventory exports or theft recovery pack notes.
- App preferences, including language, default currency behavior, iCloud Sync settings, and Pro entitlement state.
You control what you add to Vaultly. You should avoid storing information that you do not want kept in your device backup or iCloud account.
2. Local Storage
Vaultly stores your vault data locally on your device using Apple's app storage technologies. This includes asset records, proof metadata, photos, and document images you save inside the app.
Vaultly does not upload your inventory, photos, proof documents, serial numbers, or reports to a Vaultly-operated server.
3. iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, Vaultly may sync your vault data through your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This can include the same records and images stored in your local vault.
iCloud Sync is optional. If you do not enable it, your Vaultly data remains stored locally on your device, subject to your device and backup settings.
Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's own privacy terms and settings. Vaultly does not receive your Apple ID password or operate the iCloud service.
4. Photos and Documents
Vaultly may ask for access to your photo library when you choose to add or replace asset photos or proof images. Vaultly uses selected images only for the asset or proof record you create.
Vaultly does not scan your photo library in the background, does not sell photo data, and does not upload selected photos to a Vaultly server.
5. Purchases
Vaultly may offer paid features through Apple's in-app purchase system. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Vaultly may read your transaction entitlement state to unlock Pro features.
Vaultly does not receive your full payment card details. Apple's payment processing and account data are governed by Apple's terms and privacy practices.
6. Reports and Exports
Vaultly can generate local PDF reports, such as insurance inventory reports and theft recovery packs. These files are created on your device and may contain asset details, photos, serial numbers, values, locations, notes, and proof summaries.
When you share or save an exported report outside Vaultly, the privacy of that file depends on the app, service, or person you share it with.
7. Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising
Vaultly does not use third-party advertising identifiers, does not sell your personal information, and does not use your asset inventory for advertising.
If future versions add optional diagnostics or analytics, this policy will be updated to describe what is collected and how it is used.
8. No Account System
Vaultly does not require a Vaultly account. We do not ask you to create a username or password for a Vaultly service.
9. Security
Vaultly relies on iOS, device security, app sandboxing, and iCloud security when enabled. You can help protect your vault by using a strong device passcode, enabling device-level protections, and keeping your device software up to date.
No app or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Please consider the sensitivity of the asset records and proof documents you choose to store.
10. Data Deletion
You can delete assets and proof records inside Vaultly. You can also delete the app from your device to remove local app data from that device, subject to iOS behavior and your backup or iCloud settings.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, deletion and sync behavior may also depend on your iCloud account state and Apple's sync process.
11. Children's Privacy
Vaultly is intended for general personal asset management and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Vaultly-operated server.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Vaultly changes, when new features are added, or when legal or operational requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last updated.
